Welcome to Frontstep Manchester

Our Vision

To make a positive and real difference to the lives of the people who use our service during their journey of change and to offer a bespoke service that transform lives.

Our Mission

To reduce homelessness by working closely with disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in England. We take a collaborative approach whereby we work closely with our beneficiaries to understand their needs, provide vital assistance, signpost to relevant support services (such as those that focuses on substance abuse, finance/budgeting support, and mental health counsellors) and identify suitable accommodation to aid the transition to a long-term, stable home. We can provide employment support, even offering work experience to build experience and confidence when feasible. Our team includes mental health workers and nursing staff, and we see all our service users as individuals rather than a one-size fits all approach, we provide a customised service.

Our Values

We believe Everyone Deserves a Chance (EDC)

Our Staff

We have a specialised team including an in-house support structure that comprises specialist support workers such as:

  • A Mental Health Psychologist

  • Drug and Alcohol Officer

  • A dedicated Resettlement Officer; and

  • A Welfare Rights Officer.

This TRIAGE support system was established to offer a One-Stop “Shop” for clients to help reduce the stress and anxiety associated with having trying to sort things out themselves. Service users in our hostels are assessed, supported and signpost within 7 days of being accommodated to external agencies to speed up their journey of change.

Our Services

We pledge to offer the following to our clients:

  • Safe and secure accommodation with appropriate support to prevent further homelessness

  • Practical support to help deal with issues relating to ill health, welfare rights, education, employment, access to vital services, and other issues that interfere with a client’s quality of life;

  • Protection from abuse, aggressive behaviour, and violence by adopting a zero tolerance policy towards crime and anti-social behaviour; and

  • Assistance with securing suitable and appropriate permanent accommodation, in both the public and private housing sector.

Our Ethos

We believe that everyone, including the homeless community, should be treated with dignity, respect and understanding;

We will always treat our clients with compassion and understanding;

We recognise that the homeless community is diverse, with differing and challenging needs;

We will never turn anyone away, regardless of their background, and will provide support directly or signpost them to other organisations that can help;

We will advocate for our client to help them access services that are difficult to access;

We will offer a flexible, customer-centred and high quality service for our clients  to secure and maintain tenancies; and

We will work with others with the goal of making real, permanent, changes to people’s lives
